About Kintsugi Care
Healing the Helpers. Strengthening the Work. Honoring the Story.
Kintsugi Care was inspired by the traditional Japanese art of kintsugi—the practice of repairing broken pottery with precious metals such as gold, silver, or platinum. Rather than hiding the cracks, kintsugi highlights them. The places where something has been broken become part of what makes it beautiful.
Kintsugi Care carries that same philosophy into the work of caring for people.
Over the past five years, I (Caitlin) have had the privilege of working alongside churches and nonprofits internationally who are doing the courageous work of addressing generational trauma within their communities. These organizations are having the difficult conversations, confronting cycles of fear and shame, and creating new possibilities for the people they serve.
But those who spend their lives helping others need care, too.
Kintsugi Care exists to strengthen the people who are strengthening others through two primary areas of support:
Those on the frontlines of helping others often understand pain intimately. They have witnessed shame, grief, loneliness, injustice, and despair—and many have their own stories of having walked through difficult places.
Sometimes, the people who are most committed to helping others are the ones who spend so much time caring for others that their own stories can go unattended
Kintsugi Care creates space for these helpers to slow down, process their own stories, and tend to the places that still carry pain. Through intentional support and therapeutic care, the goal is not to erase the cracks in their stories, but to help them understand, integrate, and honor them.
Because the people who carry hope for others deserve a place to be cared for, too.
Many organizations serving vulnerable communities have limited access to specialized trauma education and resources. Through Kintsugi Care, we partner with churches and nonprofits to bring trauma-informed education directly to their teams through workshops, seminars, and group trainings.
The trainings focus on how trauma affects the whole person—sprit, soul, body, as well as relationships and sense of self—and the pathways that can support healing and restoration.
Kintsugi Care seeks to make that knowledge more accessible to organizations doing important work in communities where these resources may be difficult to obtain.
Yearly trips are taken to partner with non-profits and churches across the world.

Financial Support
Many times, a non-profit or church will request information for curriculums or workshops on the topics of navigating complex trauma, forming healthy relationships, establishing their sense of self-worth and identity, and healing their relationships with God and others. Our team will then head over to collaborate with the non-profits for at least a week at a time. Fundraising is one of the main ways the team is able to travel, especially to countries farther away. If you would like to donate to these trips, please click the link and specify "Kintsugi Care".
