About Begin Again

Begin Again was formed out of a need for trauma-informed therapeutic resources for survivors of human trafficking.

According to the National Human Trafficking Hotline in 2025, Florida still ranks 3rd in the nation for human trafficking. I (Caitlin) have volunteered and worked in the anti-trafficking field since 2018, primarily becoming a therapist for survivors of trafficking in 2020. Since then, I have partnered with local non-profits to provide therapeutic resources and support for children through adults.

Pathway's newest program, Begin Again, will be an official year-long therapeutic program for survivors.

Begin Again will offer individual and group therapy that focuses on the following areas:

* Overall emotional and mental health

* Healing from abusive relationships and how to form a healthy community

* Self-worth and identity

* Navigating Complex PTSD symptoms

* Assertive communication and advocating

Special attention will also be given to each survivor's spiritual health and beliefs. Unfortunately, many traffickers utilize the Bible, Scripture, and God to coerce and keep someone in sex and labor trafficking situations. This then creates many complicated and confusing emotions around a relationship with God and even God himself. Each survivor will have the space to wrestle with these convoluted thoughts and feelings, and heal from any spiritual abuse that may have occurred.

Begin Again was formed from the foundational truth that our past does not have to define our future,

and that there is no darkness that light cannot overcome.

Begin Again is funded solely through donations. The individuals coming for the therapy sessions will be paying a small fee, as research has shown that having a financial investment in an opportunity causes someone to be more connected to the process and outcome. However, all funds the survivor pays will be kept separate to be given back to the survivor at the completion of the year-long therapy program.
