Robert was born in Brooklyn, New York, moved to Panama, Central America and then raised in Miami, Florida. Having lived in Panama for 6 years, it was a difficult transition to come back to The United States and begin learning the culture and establishing a comfortable life. Robert has always had a passion for helping people and problem-solving. As an undergrad psychology student at Florida International University, he had the opportunity to work with one of his professors as a group helper in a second chance high school working with at-risk high school students. This cemented his belief that he wanted to become a therapist and help others as a career. Robert graduated from the University of Miami’s mental health counseling Master’s program in 2006, and strives to use his skills to help as many individuals and families as possible. Robert’s specialty is working with teenagers, young adults and families going through many different life issues and concerns. Robert uses a multidisciplinary approach to treat clients, including cognitive-behavioral, person-centered and many other therapy models which can change on a case by case basis. He is completely bilingual English/Spanish and understands the needs of recent immigrants to the United States. Robert is happily married to Carly, who also helps those in need as a family law paralegal. Robert has many passions in life such as art, basketball and working on cars as a hobby.
